Canflex Leads Equipment Donation to Strengthen Peru’s Firefighting Capabilities
In June 2026, we led an equipment donation initiative in Peru to help strengthen the operational capabilities of the Peruvian Air Force (FAP), the General Corps of Volunteer Firefighters of Peru, and personnel involved in wildfire response.
As part of this initiative, Canflex donated an 11,200-liter self-supporting Onion Tank, while Kawak Aviation Technologies contributed a 3,410-liter Cascade aerial firefighting bucket. Through Canflex, Kawak was also able to make its contribution to Peru, bringing additional specialized firefighting equipment to support emergency response efforts in the country.
Flexible Water Storage for Emergency Operations
The donation comes at a critical time for Peru. According to Peru’s National Institute of Civil Defense (INDECI), during the 2024 wildfire season, fires spread across 22 of the country’s 24 departments, placing significant pressure on emergency response organizations.
A report by Peru’s Ombudsman’s Office also highlighted shortages of specialized equipment needed to respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires and fires affecting industrial facilities and other high-risk structures.
To help address these challenges, our flexible water storage solution, designed for rapid deployment in demanding emergency environments, provides a dedicated water storage point directly at the site of an emergency, helping firefighting teams maintain access to water when conventional infrastructure or nearby water sources may not be sufficient. Its self-supporting design allows the tank to be deployed quickly, providing a practical solution for wildfire operations, remote locations, and other emergency scenarios where a reliable water supply needs to be established directly in the field. With 11,200 liters of storage capacity available on site, the tank can help increase operational autonomy and support firefighting teams during extended response efforts.
“At Canflex, we believe that equipping those who protect lives is not simply a corporate gesture, it is a responsibility. This tank is designed for demanding emergency environments where reliable water storage can make a difference. It is our way of standing alongside those who never give up.” Fernando Yépez, President of Canflex USA Inc.
Working Together to Strengthen Emergency Response
Our goal with this initiative was not only to provide equipment, but to help make specialized technology available to the people and organizations working on the front lines of emergency response.
Kawak Aviation Technologies, a Canadian company specializing in aviation technology for emergency response and aerial firefighting, contributed a 3,410-liter Cascade aerial firefighting bucket as part of the initiative.
Through Canflex, Kawak was able to extend its support to Peru and contribute equipment designed to complement firefighting operations in challenging environments.
This collaboration reflects the value of bringing together specialized technologies and international partners to respond to real operational needs. By connecting these resources with organizations involved in emergency response, we can help strengthen preparedness and provide additional capabilities when they are needed most.
Supporting Those Who Protect Our Communities
For us at Canflex, this initiative goes beyond the donation of a single piece of equipment. It represents our commitment to supporting the people who work under some of the most challenging conditions to protect lives, communities, and the environment.
We are proud to have led this initiative in Peru, bringing specialized firefighting equipment to the country and supporting those on the front lines of emergency response.
At Canflex, we remain committed to developing and making available reliable, rapidly deployable solutions for demanding environments, while working with partners and emergency response organizations to help communities be better prepared when critical situations arise.
